Issues & Political Concerns
Time for Change
It’s time we call for a Constitutional Convention! We need to draft an Equal Rights Amendment that includes all marginalized citizens Unlike its first try, we need to ratify it in time to become law
Patty Landy is truly passionate about adapting education to the learner. As a public school teacher, she holds this issue close to her heart, working day in and day out to find ways to improve the cause. The time is now to make the positive, necessary changes to education. What worked 100 years ago is no longer relevant or sustainable. We need to revisit NCLB and it's adaptations and make it relevant to students and teachers of today.
The Stakes are High
Patty is a summer Matunuck resident and is proud to support those who are trying to work with the environmental changes impacting the Ocean State. She has seen first hand how erosion has devastated our coast. We are fortunate to live in a beautiful area and all RIers should have access to our beautiful beaches and trails. But we must also protect our beautiful state.
A better life for all Americans
This young man and his family inspired my run! When Joe Biden opened the borders he didn't have a plan in place. Did you know it costs $725 per person to become a citizen? Immigrants who get an ITIN IIndividual Tax Identification Number) have paid close to 12 billion in taxes, yet cannot become a citizen without the test. I propose giving ITIN to all newcomers already here in the US. Keep the biometrics in place. After 5 years of paying taxes and obeying the laws, they're eligible for citizenship. No test or crazy, non refundable fees.
Back the Blue
As a teacher in the urban ring, Patty Landy knows the stresses of working in the community in one capacity. Our police force has a lot to offer their communities, and a month, paid, would be an opportunity for them to be a part of where they serve. Officers would be able to work in local agencies: libraries, schools, hospitals, rec centers, etc. as a private citizen. This will give them a chance to see where they spend their days and the people who live there. Getting to know one another on a human level will lead to better relationships.

Running for RI, not a political party
Why Not? That’s what came to mind as Patty has watched our elected officials head to DC and completely ignore the many needs of everyday RIErs. As a concerned Rhode Islander, Patty Landy is here to pave the way to change in the lives of our families. Here you will find everything you need to know about Patty Landy, why she chose to run, as well as issues she is deeply concerned with, and how you too can join her cause.
